Introduction to myself and our company
Hello! I am Jissmol Joseph, and I work in the Middle East Office of Astomos Energy Corporation. I am from Kerala, India, which is known as “God’s Own Country” because of its natural beauty and rich culture. I obtained my master’s in social work and human resource management from Mangalore University, India. Additionally, I obtained a certification in HR from Abu Dhabi, UAE. I have been with my family in Abu Dhabi for 17 years and have worked in different firms in Abu Dhabi in the HR and administration departments.
Astomos Energy Corporation is engaged in the LPG business, mainly LPG import and distribution in Japan, shipping, and international trading. Our Middle East Office opened in 2009, and we are responsible for business related to Middle Eastern countries, especially LPG purchases from suppliers with support from the Tokyo headquarters.
Our office is located in the center of Abu Dhabi city, and it features a spectacular view. We are a small staff of only three people, myself included, but we enjoy our work every day.

My journey with Astomos Energy Corporation:
I joined Astomos in 2019 as an Administration Officer. I am responsible for all accounting, HR, and administration tasks. I really enjoy working, and we have a great workplace in our renowned establishment in downtown Abu Dhabi. Through my last few years of working experience with Astomos, I have built strong professional relationships and also enhanced my career and professional skills. I will continue to do my best to contribute to the company with my professional experience.
About the UAE:
The United Arab Emirates (UAE), also known simply as the Emirates, is a country located in the Middle East at the eastern end of the Arabian Peninsula. It is a federal elective monarchy comprising seven emirates, with Abu Dhabi serving as its capital. Emirati culture is a blend of Arabian, Islamic, and Persian cultures and traditions, with influences from East African and Indian Subcontinental cultures.
The UAE is unique in its biodiversity, with deserts, oases, mountains, valleys, salt plains, mangrove forests, beaches, and very rich terrestrial and marine flora and fauna. We have a religiously and culturally tolerant population—the UAE is home to more than 200 nationalities from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. The UAE is known for its state-of-the-art infrastructure. The country includes modern transportation systems, world-class hotels and resorts, and high-tech shopping malls. In addition, the United Arab Emirates has been named one of the world’s safest countries.
The UAE has been my second home since my marriage in 2008, and my life here has helped me grow into a strong and confident person. I always feel proud to be a UAE resident.
My hobbies:
My hobbies include cooking, watching movies, and listening to music. I also like traveling and exploring new places as well as trying new tastes with friends and family. Moreover, I enjoy all celebrations like Onam (an annual cultural festival celebrated mostly by the people of Kerala), Christmas, as well as small weekend outings with my family.
I love cooking for my family. All the dishes that I prepare are my favorites, and include vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, but my all-time favorite is Onam Sadhya, a traditional mix of vegetarian dishes. I love watching family-oriented movies and listening to melodic songs. I have visited all of the Emirates and almost all of the tourist spots in the UAE. The most impressive ones were the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and the Dubai Fountain.
