My role in IT as a Systems Engineer is to maintain and monitor current systems we have in place with high availability. I work close with our Security and Infrastructure team with security, design, test, identify bottlenecks and providing solutions. I am part of the Operations team who make sure our users have the capability and knowledge to excel in their work with the use of computer and mobile devices. I work along with helpdesk duties as we get involved with new and exciting projects.

Working at MEUS, I enjoy using my analytical and computer skills to help solve problems. MEUS has equal level of communication within colleagues and staff from listening and being recognized. The company offers me professional opportunity as MEUS continues to grow.
Every day while I am at work, I am helping others and learning new advances with technology.
I cannot ask for a better job.

I enjoy helping others from a customer service and technical background. The purpose to provide time and to help others no longer feels like a job.
In 2023, IT was involved with IT equipment donations for Sunburst Youth Academy for education along with Maui for those in need from the recent wildfire. This consisted of over 100 computers and 60 mobile phones along with other accessories such as monitors, keyboards, mice, and cables.

My achievement at work.

One of the achievements our group has accomplished was to prepare all employees to telework during Covid. Our users unsure how to work when offices were closed during Covid and how it may affect their ability to work, we deployed 80 laptops and accessories. The main challenges were how to complete the project in a short notice, order equipment that our resellers are already being affected by global supply chain problems, the time to prepare every device, and to coordinate delivery for our users at home.

My experience of failure at work and what I learned from it.

Learning from mistakes is most important. It helps us as a team to grow and become well prepared in the future. Deploying computer equipment required hours of attended work. To speed productivity, we have introduced a new system within our workflow to reduce the time down to 10 minutes attended. Identifying inefficiencies allowed us to reallocate time that was otherwise spent from repetitive work.

Future goal.

My future goal at work is to grow with the company. I would like to be involved along with MEUS’s vision for better changes and environmental sustainability. Learning to reduce waste, improve energy efficiency, and optimize resource use is important from a strategic business and individual level. It is important that we strive for a better future for the generation to come.
